Partners to the MIRACO Suppliers Development Project achieve huge jump

     

Symbios Consulting has celebrated the conclusion of a 17 months project to upgrade, modernize and enhance the competitiveness of three local suppliers of Miraco Carrier Company, United Company for Metal Industries (Naloo), Union Coat for Liquid and Electrostatic Powder Paints (Union) and Alamaia for Insulation Materials (Rockal).


Symbios, by making use of its expertise in Lean tools and techniques, managed to help these three companies increase their effectiveness and competitiveness. The projects improved the quality and quantity of production as well as achieve on-time delivery and exports to their customers.

Naloo achieved 97 percent increase in sales, 83 percent increase in exports, 247 percent increase in investment, 74 percent increase in employment and 136 percent increase in productivity.

“The results were more than excellent, and we will continue implementing lean projects with Symbios weather funded by the IMC or not,” said Mr. Ala’ El Din Abdel Ghani, the owner of Naloo said.

Rockal achieved 17 percent increase in sales, 11 percent increase in exports, 17 percent in investment, 43 percent increase in employment and 100 percent increase in productivity.

Mr. Salah Hassib, the general manger of Rockal described the project as “fruitful and excellent,” and said it helped a lot especially at the time of the global financial crisis and the significant drop in sales.

Union achieved 58 percent increase in sales, 78 percent in investment, 25 percent in employment and 26 percent in productivity.

The project that started July 2007 and ended Nov 2008 was funded by the Industrial Modernization Center, IMC.
Four of Symbios consultants worked on this project, Eng. Ahmed Samy, Maged Younan, Mostafa Ismail and headed by Shereen Mosallam Symbios Egypt general manager.
